Rajasthan High Court: On the basis of the notification
of March 16, 2023, the promotion of government employees with more than two
children was banned. After which it was decided to give them promotion, but the
High Court has put an interim stay on this matter of the government. This
decision has been taken under the population control policy of the Rajasthan
government, which aims to control population growth.
Let us tell you that the government had already put a
stay on this, under which if any employee has more than two children, he will
not be given promotion. However, the High Court bench of Justice Pankaj
Bhandari and Justice Vinod Kumar Bharwani has put an interim stay on the order
of the government.
The Supreme Court, while giving the verdict, had said that refusing to give a government job for having more than two children is not discriminatory. Under this rule, if an employee has a third child, he will be considered ineligible for a government job. These rules apply to employees included in A, B, C and D groups. The court also said that the purpose of this rule is to promote family planning.
