Rape
victim turned hostile in court, judge acquitted the accused
Agra. The accused of raping
at gunpoint after entering the house was acquitted due to lack of evidence. The
victim retracted her earlier statement given before the police and the
magistrate. In her statement in the court, she said that the statements were
recorded at the behest of the inspector.
The incident is of November 18, 2022. A woman
from Jagner police station area
filed a case against the accused Rakesh of the village. Alleged that Rakesh forcibly
raped her at gunpoint after entering the house. When she shouted, the accused's
brother Nemichand threatened the family members who reached there by waving a
pistol.
The police filed a chargesheet against Rakesh
and his brother in the court. On behalf of the prosecution, the plaintiff of
the case presented the victim woman, her sister-in-law, nephew's wife and
doctor in the court for testimony.
The victim retracted her earlier statement.
Said that she had given a statement against Rakesh before the magistrate at the
behest of the inspector. The inspector had said that you should give the
statement as per my instructions. Otherwise I will put you and your husband in
jail.
The woman said that she was not raped. The court ordered legal action against the plaintiff and acquitted the accused Rakesh due to lack of evidence.
